On the basis of experimental measurements of photoelasticity, analytical investigations of the elasto-optical effect anisotropy and the proposed theory of interaction of light with standing acoustic waves the laboratory models of acousto-optic modulators on standing acoustic waves were obtained. They are characterized by low power consumption (~0.1W), by high temperature stabilization without using the thermal stabilizer, by high radiation resistance (~30 GW/cm2), by high operating frequency (1GHz and more).
