Methods for selection of diagnostic features based on variance and stepwise discriminant analysis, which allowed to perform comparative analysis of features by their diagnostic value, to formulate criteria for optimality of dimension of feature vectors and to justify the use of new features, are grounded and investigated. The structure of the measuring module of the mesh network system for environmental monitoring was created as an element of the Smart City concept, which allowed for the calibration of the measurement modules in real time. On the basis of the generalized qualitative efficiency criterion, a comparative analysis of small unmanned aerial vehicles for the tasks of monitoring energy and environmental parameters of energy objects was carried out.
