The purpose of the work is to study the natural forest biogeocenoses of Sumy region for the conservation of plant species, listed in the Red Book of Ukraine, in order to identify areas that are promising for the further creation of new objects of the nature reserve fund. Research methods. Vegetation studies were conducted using conventional geobotanical methods. 129 contours of self-forested territories and forests with a total area of 2762 were surveyed, 87 ha. 3 plots with a total area of 350 hectares are recommended for the creation of objects of local nature reserve fund, 19 contours with a total area of 551.33 hectares are recommended for transfer to the forest fund. 17 localities of 9 species of higher plants with different conservation status have been identified.
