The purpose of the work is to study the effect of hydrogen on low-cycle fatigue at the temperature range of 20 - 450 °С - those phenomena which are potentially dangerous for destruction of the zirconium claddings of the fuel rods when treating the spent nuclear fuel in simulation experiments. The method of solving the problem – the hydrogenation of the models of fuel rods claddings (up to 400 wt ppm); tests for reorientation of hydrides in modes simulating different scenarios of SNF treatment (thermal testing of Zr-1% Nb claddings under pressure at a given temperature regime); metallographic studies of Zr-1% Nb claddings before and after hydride reorientation tests; low-cycle fatigue testing at key temperatures of SNF dry storage (at the beginning and the end of SNF storage). In this work, the resistance to low-cycle fatigue (LCF) of fuel rod claddings at different deformation at the temperatures range of 20 - 450 °C is studied. The variation of stress and accumulated deformation in the process of testing is considered, the dependences and limits of the LCF on the strain amplitude are determined. The peculiarities of mechanisms of origin and propagation of fatigue cracks at the temperature range of 20 - 450 °C are studied. Product Description popup.authors Belash Mykola M. Grytsyna Viktor M.
