Registration Date 09-01-2020 Organization Nizhyn Mykola Gogol State University popup.description2 The object of the study was the creativity of Russian and foreign writers as original and specific to the literary process of their era, in particular of Mykola Gogol, a graduate of Nizhyn High School, whose multifaceted creativity influenced the development of not only Russian but also Ukrainian and of many countries’ literature in the world. The purpose of the study is a systematic analysis of the life and work of M. Gogol and other writers of world literature; to identify the features and dynamics of the vector of scientific and artistic interpretation of their heritage. The main methods of the research were historical and functional (in outlining the ways, directions and changes of the vector of researching the creativity of M. Gogol and other writers of the world literature); comparative analysis related to a genetic-contact and a comparative-typological methods, as well as the newest ones – intertextuality and immagogical approach. The theoretical and practical results were implemented in monographs, articles and methodical manuals, which revealed the theoretical aspects related to the work of M. Gogol and other writers of the world literature. The attention was paid to the least researched objects of creativity and specificity of artistic expressive means of creating images or expressing reality. Then novelty of the study was that the vast majority of scientific work was devoted to the poorly understood aspects of the life and work of M. Gogol and other writers , or such problems that required completely new approaches to their understanding and interpretation and were relevant to our time. The contemporary literary was the scope of research, that was enriched by the results of the study of the works by M. Gogol and other writers of world literature by the residents of Nizhyn, as well as the inclusion of these works in the scientific and educational process of both Nizhyn University and other educational institutions.
