The purpose of the research is a systematic analysis of the life and creativity of known and little known representatives of Polissia’s culture; it was also the identification of features and dynamics of changes in the vector of scientific and artistic interpretation of their heritage, as well as understanding of the basic processes of development of cultural phenomena, arts in the region in the aggregate. The methods of research were historical and functional ones in outlining the ways, directions and changes of the vector of study of cultural phenomena of Polissia and its individual representatives, comparative analysis in relation to genetic-contact and comparative-typological methods used in considering the general development processes of the culture of the land, different kinds of art. and nests of culture, as well as the latest in inter textuality and the imagological approach. The theoretical and practical results were implemented in monographs, articles and methodological manuals, which revealed the theoretical aspects related to the coverage of life and work of representatives of Polissia culture, general processes of culture development in the region. A special attention was paid to the least studied objects of the culture and their specificity, artistic methods of their creation. The novelty of the study was that the vast majority of scientific work was devoted to the unexplored or under-researched problems of Polissia culture, which needed completely new approaches to their understanding and interpretation.
