The content of both metals introduced by impregnation and the sequence of metal deposition were varied. Also 4 samples of mesoporous coal were synthesized with no metal component, and with 4% wt Ni and Pd, separately and applied together. The porous characteristics of the samples synthesized were determined by the method of low-temperature adsorption/desorption of nitrogen and the preservation of the structure modified was shown. The particle sizes of the catalyst's metallic component were determined by transmission electron microscopy. It is revealed for zeolite samples that the introduction of the second metal does not change the location of the components. It remains the outer surface of zeolite crystals, the same as for monometallic samples impregnated. Catalyst samples were tested in micro-pulse n-hexane isomerization. It is shown that the temperature of maximum yield of hexane isomers is gradually reduced from 325 to 250°C with increasing the content of additionally deposited Ni in the range of 0.1–1% wt on the 0.5Pd/HMFI. Applying 0.1% wt Ni on the samples of 0.1–1% wt Pd does not affect the temperature of the maximum yield (300°C), however, the magnitude of i-C6 yield increases symbately with the Pd amount. On a zeolite catalyst with optimum metal content (0.5% wt of either of the two) 45% conversion at 250°C was achieved with high i-C6 selectivity (>90%) under micro-pulse testing conditions, which exceeds the catalytic characteristics of monometallic samples at this temperature. It was found that the original and Ni-containing coals are almost inactive in n-hexane conversion, whereas applying Pd on these samples can promote a slight formation of hexane isomers with yields up to 9% wt at 400°C, and the bimetallic catalyst is less effective. The metal-coal catalysts, even without acid sites, converts n-hexane mainly by cracking. Product Description popup.authors Voloshyna Yuliya G. Zlochevskyi Kostiantyn V. Zubenko Stepan О.
