Polymeric composite films based on polyamide 11 (PA11) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) comprising imidazolium salts were prepared by compression molding, as well as solvent casting. According to differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) data, the ionic compounds form homogeneous mixture with engineering polymers at their content of 20-30%. The results of thermophysical investigations indicate plasticizing effect of liquid imidazolium salts containing ester groups on PVC. Thus, an introduction of 20% additives was found to decrease glass transition temperature of PVC on 39 оС and 77 оС depending on ester group content. The results of microbiological studying of polymeric films modified with onium salts indicate their high antimicrobial activity against Gram-negative (E. coli) and Gram-positive (B. subtilis) bacteria at the additive content from 2 to 5%.
