Object of the study: - immunogenetic characteristics of the population of the Central Gene-Geographical Region of Ukraine; clinical-hematological, immunogenetic, molecular-genetic characteristics of plasma cell myeloma. Objective: To determine the prevalence of isolated and haplotype polymorphic variants of cytokine genes (TNF-α, TGF-β1, IL-6, IL-10, IFN-γ) and genes of major histocompatibility complex (HLA-A, HLA-B, HLA- C, HLA-DRB1, HLA-DQA1, HLA-DQB1) in the control population of the Gene-Geographical Region of Ukraine. Research methods: clinical-hematological, molecular-genetic, immunogenetic, statistical. A database of 364 histotyped individuals of the Ukranian Central Gene-Geographical Region population according to polymorphic variants of cytokine genes (TNF-α, TGF-β1, IL-6, IL-10, IFN-γ) and genes of the major histocompatibility complex (HLA-A, HLA-B, HLA-C, HLA-DRB1, HLA-DQA1, HLA-DQB1). Biological material from 37 patients with plasma cell myeloma (including 32 victims of the Chernobyl power plant accident) was accumulated. The prevalence of following allele was established: 0,885 for TGF-β1 codon 25/G; 0,795 for TNF-α-308/G; 0,795 for IL-10-592/C and IL-10-819/C; 0,749 for IFN-γ + 874/A. The significant decrease in the frequency of haplotype IL-10-1082/-819/-592 GCC was found, which corresponds to producers with high levels of anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10. The haplotype A*24/B*07/C*12/DRB1*11/DQB1*06:02/DQА1*05:05 occured in the Ukrainian population with a frequency of 0,0178, whereas in European populations its frequency does not exceed 0,006 or was not registered at all. The high prevalence of allelic groups HLA-A*24 and HLA-B*07 may affect the activity and strength of the immune response under influence of negative exogenous factors. It is established that the Ukrainian population corresponds to the Central Europe populations by genetic distances. Product Description popup.authors Balan Valentyna V. Bebeshko Volodymyr G.
