The purpose of the work is to determine main factors and to evaluate their impact on the residents’ radiation doses formation of the RCT in Kyiv region at the current stage of the accident, based on the complex radiation and hygienic monitoring in the benchmark settlements (S) in 2019. Research methods – dosimetry; radiochemical, mathematical A comprehensive radiation and hygienic monitoring carried out in 2019 in 8 S of RCT in Kyiv region showed that annual effective doses of population exposure in the surveyed S at the current stage of the accident are formed at the expense of internal radiation doses which do not exceed 0.46 mSv • year-1 in Ivankiv district and 0.51 mSv • year-1 in the Polissia district with the pivot criteria being equal to 1 mSv • year-1. Further decrease of the internal radiation annual doses in the surveyed S were registered to be 1.3 times lower. A slowdown in the radiation doses reduction was observed in comparison with previous years: from 2013 to 2016, the annual doses of internal radiation in the surveyed S decreased by 2.3–3.6 times. It was investigated that the main factor that causes the internal exposure dose of residents in surveyed S of Kyiv region is the influence of 137Cs onto the residents’ bodies which comes from the forest food products, especially mushrooms, which traditionally have a significant part of the Polissia region cuisine. The maximum-recorded amount of 137Cs in dried mushroom samples is 224 kBq ∙ kg-1, which is almost 100 times higher than the permissible level (PL) of the Hygienic standard. The amount of 137Cs and 90Sr in milk and potatoes collected in the surveyed S is lower than PL and the consumption of these food products cannot significantly influence the formation of the internal irradiation dose Product Description popup.authors Bessmertna Olena I.
