The effect of CeO2 concentration on the optical transmission is determined and it was shown that, depending on the dopant concentration and the composition of the LCD matrix, CeO2 can both increase the optical density of the system and decrease it. The translational ordering of nanoparticles is realized by integrating them into the cholesteric liquid crystal matrix. It has been found that when injecting CeO2 nanoparticles (10 nm) into an LCD medium where the luminescence band does not screen the CeO2 band, cerium oxide demonstrate luminescence with a maximum at 330 nm.
