The object of the study is the processes of reducing carbon dioxide emissions in a country's industry by decarbonising it. Research methods – axiomatic, analysis and synthesis, economic and mathematical modeling, scenario, generalization and grouping, content analysis. Scientific and technical results. Conceptual principles for the development of distributed energy in Ukraine and reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. A complex of methodological approaches for the assessment of electricity security in the country, assessment of the level of development of distributed electricity in the country. The results of scientific researches were used in the practical work of the state enterprise "State institute for designing enterprises of coke oven and by-product plants" (SE "GIPROKOKS"). The work was performed on the basis of the scientific project "Scientific-technological and economic-ecological principles of low-carbon development of Ukraine" and has interrelations with previously erformed works on the topics: “Rationale for structural changes in the energy sector and the possibilities for its modernization”, 2017, registration number 0117U001757; “Substantiation of directions of development of distributed energy in Ukraine in the context of structural changes in the economy”, 2018, registration number 0118U100136 and others. The results of the work are recommended to be used in the development of Ukraine's energy strategy and power development programs in the regions of the country. Implementation of the proposed activities in the work will create additional jobs and economic development of the distributed energy distribution areas and reduce carbon dioxide emissions. It is proposed to conduct further research in the direction of further development of theoretical and methodical foundations of distributed energy development.
