Kurdyumov IMPh of the N.A.S.U. popup.description2  It is established that twice higher wear resistance of Ni-Cr-B-Si-C coating in comparison with the base material (steel 45) is due to the presence in the nanostructured Ni based solid solution matrix of dispersed particles of Ni and Cr borides, Cr carbides and Ni silicides. Secondary carbides (Cr, Fe)0C3 and refined crystallites (~ 100 nm) provide high wear resistance of X12MF steel after combined laser thermal treatment (LHT) and ultrasonic impact treatment (UIT). An agreement was reached with the specialists of the branch of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" "Research and Design and Technological Institute of Railway Transport" regarding the testing of the samples and structural elements with modified surface layers in order to introduce new technologies in the repair enterprises of the railway car-building industry according to needs of safe exploitation of rolling-stock of “Ukrzaliznytsia” JSC, constructions, and structures.
