Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  We report the quantitative characteristics of the partitioning of the hydrophobic (europium coordination complexes) and hydrophilic (doxorubicin) antitumor drugs between the lipid and water phases, determined for the liposomes of different size and lamellarity, charge and chemical nature of lipid, as well as for those, modified with amyloid fibrils. The low ability of the protein fibrillar aggregates to retain the pharmaceutical formulations was also revealed. The novel delivery systems of the cytotoxic agents were developed, based on the amyloid-modified liposomes, and similar ability to entrap the drugs was detected both for the composite systems, and for pure liposomes. However, the use of amyloid-modified liposomes is promising for the longer retention of the hydrophilic pharmaceutical formulations in the nanocapsules.
