To solve this problem and for the most common type of USM (multipath chordal) analytical dependencies were developed to determine the coordinates of the location and weight coefficients of the acoustic paths, as well as methods of investigation of flow measurement errors of USM based on known laws of flow velocity distribution. According to the results of the methods, specific recommendations on the design of the USM most invariant to changes in the flow structure during their operation were formed.
