The purpose of this work is to develop a methodology and technology for liquidating liquid petroleum products in the underground hydrosphere for the most typical geological and hydrogeological conditions in Ukraine. The purpose of the first stage is the selection and justification of ways to improve and rehabilitate groundwater and surface water in areas contaminated with liquid petroleum products. Research methods - information retrieval; analysis of data on the state of the environment of Ukraine; development of a methodology for determining an environmentally acceptable technogenic pressure on the aquatic environment; theoretical justification of the features of the formation of foci of pollution; analysis of data on modern approaches to solving water protection problems in the territories of groundwater and surface water pollution with liquid petroleum products. The result of the research work on the first stage is an interim report on the theoretical justification of the choice of environmentally acceptable measures to protect the aquatic environment. The need for creating innovative technologies for the automatic selective extraction of liquid petroleum products from the underground hydrosphere and groundwater contaminated with dissolved petroleum products has been scientifically substantiated. Scientific novelty of the work - for the first time, a theoretical approach has been developed to the selection and justification of the technology for the selective extraction of liquid petroleum products to protect groundwater and water bodies from pollution.
