It is known that the percentage of hip arthroplasty rejection over a 10-year follow-up period varies between 3-10% depending on "implant factors" and "patient factors". The mechanisms of peri-implant regeneration of bone tissue and the influence of implant materials on its course are studied in this work. Structural? mechanical and chemical modifications of the surface of titanium implants and their combinations might have hypothetically different osteoinductive, osteoconductive and osteointegrative potential. Combination of aluminum oxide and titanium powder coating applied with plasma on the implant’s surface may appear as a promising material regarding to its low cost and toxicity as well as immunological inertness. At the current stage of the research progress to which this report is devoted, an analytical review was performed, implant materials were prepared, their physical and chemical properties were examined prior to implantation. The experiment was conducted with laboratory rats: implantation of the studied materials into the femur with exposure of 1, 2 and 4 weeks.
