The study subject is the economic relations that determine the economic security of the higher education system (ES HES) as a component of national security and a sustainable development factor in the process of institutional transformations under globalization. The study purpose and main objectives. To reveal the essence and determine the peculiarities of economic security of the higher education system as a subsystem of the country’s economic security in the conditions of increasing uncertainty and riskiness of the external environment of its functioning; to formulate the country’s national economic interests in the development of higher education at the present stage; to classify the types of ES HES and to develop the methodology for monitoring factors that threaten the economic security of HES as a whole and the individual IHE; to investigate the relationship nature between the level of competitiveness and ES in general and institutions of higher education in particular; to substantiate theoretically the role of the education institute as a factor in the country’s socio-economic development and individual regions; to identify and describe methodological features of systematic analysis in the processes of ensuring the economic security of higher education; to substantiate scientifically the specifics and to clarify the interpretation of the category “economic security of the higher education system”; to define the conditions and to develop a strategy aimed at ensuring ES and competitiveness of HES based on the fact that such a system should: have a sufficient level of economic freedom, be provided with internal mechanisms of effective management that will allow the development and implementation of a single effective development strategy taking into account the state and changes in the environment, taking into account Product Description popup.authors Belyalov Talyat E.
