Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  Object of research: polycrystalline films of metals (Cu, Ag) with the addition of lead and bismuth. Objective: to study the features of thermal dispersion of continuous polycrystalline metal films (Cu, Ag). Research methods: films were obtained by vacuum condensation and investigated using electron microscopy, in situ electron diffraction, and electrical resistance measurements in heating-cooling cycles. It was established that preliminary annealing of polycrystalline metal films allows one to increase their thermal stability. By studying the through porosity that occurs when films are heated, the activation energy of thermal dispersion of single and double layer films is determined. The small value of the activation energy of dispersion of Pb/Cu films, in comparison with the activation energy of self-diffusion in single-component films, indicates the overwhelming role of mass transfer of the substance by the liquid phase in two-component samples. Histograms of the particle size distribution that are formed as a result of dispersion were obtained, and it was found that the coverage of the substrate with the film in Pb/Cu samples is much lower than in copper films annealed to the same temperature. For the Cu – Pb, Cu – Bi, and Ag – Pb contact pairs in a dispersed state, an increase in solubility was revealed in comparison with bulk samples. Using binary Ag-Pb films as an example, it is shown that the limiting solubility of lead in silver increases with a decrease in the characteristic size in the system. The main results of the work were obtained for the first time; their relevance is due both to the need to understand the nature of processes in highly dispersed systems, and the widespread use of nanodispersed objects in modern technologies.
