Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2 Effective methods were proposed to evaluate the genetic and environmental consequences of range reduction or expansion, invasions and migrations. New data on the geographic distribution of animals that are changing their ranges and information on the geographical structure of human and animal populations were obtained. Recommendations on protection of rare species in Ukraine were proposed. The genetic consequences of migration and invasion were determined. Phylogenetic relationships were revealed based on mitochondrial genes. This approach allowed to describe two new species of marine leeches and to evaluate their adaptations to great depths and low temperatures. Significant endemism of the Antarctic fauna and unique morphological adaptations of fish parasites were revealed. Natural selection in the COX1 locus of the oriental medicinal leech was found. Modeling medicinal leech ranges showed their distribution in the coming decades. Invasive species are characterized by the spread of common haplotypes and low genetic diversity. Populations of the steppe viper show signs of genetic impoverishment through isolation and low values of effective population size, which poses a threat to their existence. It was shown how the structure of the components of natural selection in modern human populations had changed in comparison with the indicators of the twentieth century. Psychogenetic characteristics of the migratory population were obtained. The distribution of gene polymorphisms of two cytochromes responsible for xenobiotic transformation and important for pharmacotherapy was determined. Indicators reflecting the differentiation of Ukrainian populations, migration intensity, isolation degree and inbreeding in different regions of Ukraine were found. The contribution of historical migrations to the gene pool of the modern population of Ukraine. Product Description popup.authors Atemasov Andrii A. Atramentova Lubov O. Gorpynchenko Mychailo Yu.
