The research was conducted through a frontal study of a source of mass character - acts books of the XVI-XVII centuries, in accordance with methodological principles: criticism of the source, contextual analysis and hermeneutical interpretation of documentary material on the basis of complex integrative and anthropological approaches. As a result, new knowledge was gained regarding: features of functioning of the patron-client system of the society; the privacy of humanity. In particular, the social structure of the nobility was clarified by distinguishing the service group in the noble environment. On the basis of documentary material: the typology of Ukrainian noble family, degree of patrimony, property and spiritual kinship is determined. Matrimonial practices, including marriage motivation, are analyzed; procreative functions of the family, the coefficients of marital fertility and childbearing of the noble family were calculated. For the first time, the broadest aspects of the marriage of the nobility are clarified: marital relations, gender of the man and woman in the family, the attitude of the parents to the children, the value of the institution of guardianship, the relationship between parents and children, related and adopted families. For the first time secular marriage legislation is subject to gender expertise. The problem of family conflictology and its causes is considered. The stereotypes of mental representations of the present humanity about family, marriage, love, children, family relationships, etc., and the impact of these perceptions on different aspects of family life have been clarified.
