The necessity of transition to the use of national coefficients in the formation of the National Anthropogenic Emissions Inventory in terms of estimation of volatile emissions from oil and natural gas activities has been established. Analyzes have been made and the lists of measures and technologies for reducing GHG emissions in the oil and gas sector relevant to the implementation in Ukraine have been formed. The necessity of introduction of measures and technologies of detection of sources and quantitative determination of volumes of methane leaks in Ukraine is especially noted. GHG emissions forecasts from the oil and gas industry until 2040 have been generated. On the basis of the analysis of the state and major problems with greenhouse gas emissions in the coal industry, projected volumes of methane emissions from coal mining and sewage, as well as carbon dioxide from combustible waste heaps have been determined. Estimated volumes of methane emissions from mines located on the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities have been determined. Taking into account the forecast of the development of the coal industry in the territories controlled by the Ukrainian authorities and the tendencies of using scientific and technological progress for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the potential for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the coal industry for the period up to 2040 was estimated due to the implementation of degassing equipment during modernization. Carrying out measures to extinguish waste heaps will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 3-4 times. For the period up to 2040, the projected total amount of greenhouse gas emissions in the coal industry is calculated after the measures taken to reduce them in mines.
