Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  The object of the study is gas-discharge plasma, devices for the creation of ion beams and solid-state objects for interaction with them. The purpose of the stage is the studying of the charge and current compensation of ion beams; the characteristics of a source with a metal hydride cathode under ion-stimulated hydrogen desorption; the creation of a radioluminescent installation and quartz luminescence examining for its calibration; the method of increasing the magnetic current of magnetron discharge. Plasma neutralizer based on additional non-self-contained gas discharge of magnetron type using the hollow cathode effect was developed. It is shown that forced cooling of the metal hydride cathode allows the stabilization of the working pressure in the discharge and provides desorption of hydrogen exclusively due to ion-stimulated processes. A new optical installation for photographic and X-ray luminescence studies (photons up to 60 keV) of dielectric materials has been developed and manufactured. An original method of fitting luminescence spectra was developed which allows to study the structure of the spectra and their evolution depending on the parameters. The obtained experimental data accurately explain the thousandfold increase in the efficiency of the sputtering process of the MSS target in the high-current pulsed mode of the magnetron discharge.
