Purpose of the study: systematization of historiography of regional history; identification of the most important historical events of the national scale that took place in Chernihiv-Sivershchyna; study of features and trends of regional socio-economic history. The research methodology is based on general scientific methods: historical, logical-theoretical analysis and critical approach, used methods of analysis of different groups of sources, as well as systemic and typological methods. In addition, the study used an empirical method - the method of expeditionary searches. Special methods include in-situ research and identification. Theoretical and practical results. The basic theoretical provisions of the research work fill in some gaps in the national historical regionalism, give a better idea of the specifics of the historical process on the lands of Chernihiv-Siverschyna compared to other regions of Ukraine. The practical importance of this work is to better acquaint the scientific community with the important historical figures of the region, as well as the key issues of its history. The scientific novelty is that for the first time there has been a comprehensive study of a wide range of historical issues in the context of regionalism; prepared and published a series of publications on the personalities, phenomena of Chernihiv-Sivershchyna history (local lore, archival, source study, historiographic, bibliographic character), as well as on particular problems of the theory of historical regionalism.
