Higher cytotoxic/cytostatic effect of purified cytokinin fractions compared to crude methanol extracts as well as a higher apoptotic index and decreased glycolysis were recorded. The effect of cytokinin fractions from the mycelial biomass of F. officinalis on pathogenic cells was higher compared to H. coralloides. The results indirectly confirm the possibility that biologically active substances of medicinal fungi with high pharmacological potential include cytokinins.
