The estimation of strength of existing compositions of a glazing of AN type airplanes by criteria to bullet and bird resistance is executed. It is established that stresses in glass layers at a bird impact do not exceed admissible values, and the investigated glass blocks meet the bird resistance requirements. Depth of heading of bullets in a helicopter MI-8 glazing depending on shot distance is investigated. The response of the multilayer glazing to action of an air shock wave with different intensity is investigated. The mathematical model which presents effect of the air shock wave on the glazing is based on exponential relation and considers as effect of a phase of the increased pressure, as a rarefaction phase. Practical significance of work consists that research results of glazing strength are used in design practice of a glazing for flight vehicles in LLC «Spetstechsklo A».
