The method of investigation is a weight and gauge experiment, visual investigations in wind tunnels. Equipment: three-component and six-component strain gauge electronic scales, information measurement system "IVS UTAD-2/1002L" multichannel automated system for data collection and processing "Drainage-M2". Results: – developed standard forms of VVGs on an airfoil leading edge, which significantly increase wing critical angles of attack, eliminate a sharp decrease in lift force at post-critical angles of attack as well as the phenomenon of static hysteresis; – determined the trends of VVGs influence on the integral and local aerodynamic characteristics of objects in the airflow; – determined the most efficient configuration parameters for models of lifting surfaces with VVGs to improve the operation performance of UAVs and its flight safety; – draft of experimental investigations methodology of airfoil models at low speeds; – draft of methodology of simultaneous weight and gauge testing of the wing section model in NAU TAD-2; – project specification for creation of perspective UAV with vortex flow wings Novelty: systematic research, obtaining optimal relationships between the size, shape, location of the VVGs on specific airfoils. An atlas of aerodynamic characteristics of six airfoil types with three types of VVGs was created. Application scope: enterprises of the Ministry of Defense, Agriculture, The State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and companies engaged in the development and production of aircraft and UAVs.
