Tomato and eggplant regenerant plants were also obtained after transformation with a vector containing the desC gene encoding the Δ9-acyl-lipid desaturase of cyanobacteria. The analysis of transgenic potato plants obtained in previous years was also completed. Transgenic potato lines that showed less sensitivity than control to salt and osmotic stress were identified according to their ability to grow on a nutrient medium with 0.3 M NaCl or 0.2 M mannitol. According to the results of experiments to determine the activity of enzymes of antioxidant plant system under salt stress conditions, it was found that in transgenic potato lines the response of this enzymes to stress is different from the reaction of non-transgenic lines, although clear patterns of enzyme activity in transgenic plants are not traced. The experimental data obtained during the implementation of the project suggest that the created vectors for genetic transformation of plants can be used for genetic modification of plants of other species in order to increase their resistance and the obtained transgenic potato plants can be used in biotechnological practice for further research of these plants to studying of mechanisms of plants adaptation to stresses. The research on the topic of the project was conducted at the level of high international standards using modern biochemical and molecular biological methods.
