Specialized welding materials have been developed, the properties of the weld metal have been investigated and the technique and technology of surfacing in laboratory conditions have been worked out. Optimal modes have been determined and the technique of automatic arc surfacing of vertical surfaces has been worked out. The technology of repair and restoration of the vertical guideways of the lifting-gates of the navigable gates of the Dnieper basin reservoirs has been created to extend their life, increase reliability and safety and an appropriate technological regulation was developed.
