The purpose of the work - is to create new and improve the existing methods of numerical simulation of impulse wave scattering, in particular waves of the radar range, on objects of complex shape. Research Methods - for the calculation of wave scattering on a complex shape object the SBR (Shooting and Bouncing Rays) method is used in conjunction with the methods of physical and geometrical optics for monochromatic and pulsed fields, also with methods of integral transformations for transformation of formulae from time domain to Fourier (or Laplace) domain and vice versa. Results: the application of the FDTD method for the analysis of electromagnetic wave diffraction on complex objects, in particular objects that are large in comparison to the wavelength and objects with complex geometry are considered. A computer program was developed to analyze the diffraction of impulse signals on an azimuthal periodic lattice located in the cross-section of an empty dielectric waveguide, and analyze the physical effects of such diffraction on different lattice structures. Formulas were obtained to calculate the diffraction of impulse and monochromatic signals on a complex object whose surface is represented by facets.
