The purpose of the work is development of scientific and technical bases for the creation of energy-efficient, multifunctional food packaging machines based on a non-uniform system of mechatronic modules. Research methods - analysis and synthesis of geometric, kinematic and dynamic parameters of packaging operations and mechatronic modules; optimization synthesis of packaging machine from mechatronic modules; cluster approach to the formation of a mechatronic module database. The newest concept of mechatronic module design has been offered, which made it possible to create a database of functional mechatronic modules and to combine them with each other. Structural diagrams of mechatronic modules of machines for primary foodstuffs packaging, group packaging, forming of extended cargo units have been developed and analyzed. Energy-consuming mechatronic modules of packaging machines of different functional groups have been determined. The dependences between energy consumption and technological and structural parameters of mechatronic modules have been established, and a method for determining the flexibility indicators for mechatronic module readjustments and the influence on them of technological parameters of packaging machines have been developed. The unified electrical system of typical mechatronic modules of packaging machines has been offered, taking into account the element base of components having different physical nature.
