The subject of the study is the economic relations in the field of the generation, transportation, distribution and consumption of electricity from renewable energy resources. The purpose of the research is the formation of theoretical and methodological foundations to promote the development of renewable energy. Research methods are Levelized Cost of Electricity, system-structural, investment, factor, statistical, economic-mathematical analysis and modeling. The theoretical bases of management and ecological and economic determinants of renewable energy development are substantiated. Theoretical foundations of organizational and economic mechanism for managing the development of renewable energy based on the system of trade in "green" certificates, approaches to the combination of the mechanism of feed-in tariff and tradable "green" certificates system, directions of application of such certificates in additional economic mechanisms to stimulate the development of the industry. Scientific and substantiated proposals for improving the structure of the institutional mechanism for managing the development of renewable energy in Ukraine, approaches to calculating the cost of electricity from different types of renewable energy sources from the position of energy supplier and energy consumer, approach to determining the optimal scenario for investment. State and local mechanisms of motivational support for the development of renewable energy in Ukraine have been improved. The R&D results were implemented in the activities of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (act dated 12.03.2019), SVK “Kolyadinets”, Sumy region, Lipovodolinsky district (act № 22 dated 20.01.2018) and educational process of Sumy State University ( acts dated 07.12.2017 and 03.12.2018).
