For the implementation of the catenary parameters inspection the vehicle must be equipped with three subsystems: the contact wires coordinate stereoscopic measurement subsystem; the contact support identification subsystem and the wagon angle measurement subsystem. A unified approach is proposed, which consists in the specialized microprocessor controller (video camera) development, on the basis of which all three subsystems can be implemented. The microprocessor camera should provide high-speed real-time recording and processing of optical signals. Therefore, a linear sensor with a 4.6 kHz maximum frequency and a DSP microprocessor with a 450 MHz clock frequency were selected for the implementation of the controller. Circuit diagrams and circuit boards of the device functional units have been developed. A software module for the sensor signals recording has been developed. High-speed linear image processing algorithms have been implemented to operate the camera in all three modes. A microprocessor camera model layout has been created as a three-board assembly. As a experimental studies result it was found that in the coordinate mode, the camera is capable at a 222 Hz frequency operating, which corresponds to the required measuring step of 200 mm at a 160 km/h speed. It is also found that in the contact support identification mode the required scanning step of 20 mm is provided. The developed microprocessor video camera can be used for the implementation of all optoelectronic measuring subsystems. The proposed technical solutions implementation will allow the railway inspection vehicles equipment modernization to ensure non-contact catenary parameters inspection in the whole range of allowable movement speeds.
