As a result, 32 new taxa of different levels were described. New data were obtained on the changes of vegetation cover in the territory of Ukraine in the Pliocene and Pleistocene. The taxonomic structure of freshwater fish fauna of the Late Cenozoic of the south of East Europe was established. Asian fish taxa were revealed in the Late Miocene of Europe for the first time. Complex research into the species diversity of amphibians in the Late Cenozoic of Ukraine were conducted first in the territory of Ukraine. The first survey of the avifauna of the Middle Eocene-Pleistocene of the south of East Europe was conducted and some spatiotemporal relations between the Cenozoic avifauna of the region and the world were revealed. An updated concept of formation of the modern mammal fauna of central East Europe was created based on results of DNA analysis.
