The goal of the project is to develop new methods and equipment of contour shielding of the magnetic field of three-phase cable lines in the areas of connecting couplings, which allow to realize high screening efficiency without limiting the current-carrying capacity of cable lines. The following research methods were used: methods of theoretical electrical engineering, methods of mathematical physics, the finite elements method, methods of experiment planning. The analysis of known methods and equipment of the magnetic field shielding for cable lines in areas of the connecting couplings was carried out within the project. The most effective known systems of the magnetic field shielding for cable lines in areas of the connecting couplings were determined. Theoretical and experimental studies of the efficiency of magnetic field contour shielding by systems with ferromagnetic cores were carried out. The conditions of reducing of thermal influence of the shield on the cable line current capacity are determined. As a result, for the first time, the synthesis of an effective single-loop system of power frequency magnetic field shielding for areas of connecting couplings of high-voltage three-phase cable lines is carried out. Due to the developed asymmetric magnetic communication provided by two ferromagnetic cores, the effective single-loop system has high shielding efficiency (about 7). It was experimentally confirmed. Moreover the shield loop is distant from power cables by 0.2-0.3 m and, unlike the best foreign analogues, this allow to eliminate thermal effects on cable line and to avoid cable line capacity reducing. Recommendations on the design of contour shielding systems for cable lines in the areas of the couplings were developed.
