Research methods - analysis and generalization of modern ideas about explosive destruction of rocks; mathematical and physical modeling using modern equipment; statistical processing of results of experimental researches; feasibility analysis. Directional change of rock properties with the use of surfactants is presented as one way of controlling the destruction process. The influence of surfactants to changes in strength characteristics is investigated. The results obtained indicate that due to the reduction of surface energy at the contacts of mineral formations under the action of surfactants, the strength of rocks decreases.
