Pisarzhevskii Institute Of Physical Chemistry of The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  A method of obtaining nanocomposites based on palladium and carbon carriers with different porosity has been developed. The obtained nanocomposites were tested as catalysts in the de-benzylation reaction of the substituted piperidine derivatives, in particular 1- (1-benzylpiperidin-4-yl) -1-cyclopropyl-3,3-dimethylcarbamide, with variations in hydrogen pressure, temperature and reaction time. It has been shown that the catalytic activity of heterogeneous catalysts containing palladium nanoparticles in the reaction of 1- (1-benzylpiperidine-4-yl) -1-cyclopropyl-3,3-dimethylcarbamide in the reaction of ethylbenzyl radical with the formation of toluene and the corresponding piperidine derivative. The conversion of 1- (1-benzylpiperidin-4-yl) -1-cyclopropyl-3,3-dimethylcarbamide in the de-benzylation reaction generally depends little on pressure (6 - 15 atm at 30 ° C) and increases with increasing reaction time from 6 up to 18 hours. Analysis of the data set for all the synthesized samples shows that the maximum conversion value is about 99% with a selectivity of 98%. Comparison of the structural and morphological characteristics of the catalysts obtained and the yields of the 1- (1-benzylpiperidin-4-yl) -1-cyclopropyl-3,3-dimethylcarbamide debenzylation reaction shows that the output in the debenzylation reaction depends primarily on the average pore size and increases with increasing the proportion of mesopores (3 nm) in the samples. On the basis of the most active and selective catalyst, a pilot batch of catalyst was made and tested in the de-benzylation reaction of model substituted piperidine in the production conditions at "IF Lab".
