The purpose of the work is a comprehensive analysis of contemporary problems in the development of Ukrainian philological science, the implementation of studies in Ukrainian linguistics, history and theory of literature, folklore studies, dialectology, teaching methods of Ukrainian language and literature in general secondary education and higher education institutions. Research methods - descriptive, comparative, typological, comparative, structural, historical, cultural, stylistic. The scientific achievements of the teachers of the Department of Ukrainian Philology are introduced into the practice of teaching the disciplines of vocational training, applied during practical classes, the organization of research work of teachers and students, the organization of cooperation between the university and institutions of general secondary education and institutions of higher education, and the city of higher education. Ukraine as a whole, as well as at the conclusion of numerous programs of preparation, retraining, improvement of Ukrainian language proficiency for citizens of Ukraine other age and professional categories (entrants, teachers, civil servants, law enforcement officials).
