The study purpose - to select winter triticale lines for late sowing (late-autumn sowing) with high grain yield and adaptability. Theoretical and practical results. The effect of late sowing (late-autumn sowing) on the grain yield and adaptability of triticale breeding material in the Eastern Forest-Steppe of Ukraine was evaluated. The study ha proven a possibility of late-autumn sowing of triticale, with plants reliably and sufficiently provided with water, undergoing the stages of spike formation, meiosis, anthesis and grain filling on shorter days and at lower air temperatures. This contributes to higher grain yields. Eight holistically valuable triticale lines, which are suitable for late-autumn sowing (winter lines), were identified: TKhZ 12p-19, TKhZ 15p-19, TKhZ 31p-19, TKhZ 31p-19, TKhZ 39p-19, TKhZ 66p-19, TKhZ 68p-19 and TKhZ 96p-19. The lines have high yield and adaptability potential as well as good grain quality indicators. The selected overwintering triticale lines were transferred to the National Bank for Plant Genetic Resources and received certificates. Several overwintering triticale lines with a yield potential of up to 12 t/ha were selected from the first year breeding nursery for further research: TKhZ 19-9p-19, TKhZ 19-11p-19, TKhZ 20-6p-19, TKhZ 21-6p-19 , TKhZ 22-6p-19, TKhZ 23-17p-19, TKhZ 24-7p-19, TKhZ 27-6p-19, TKhZ 27-13p-19, TKhZ 27-18p-19, TKhZ 28-18p-19, TKhZ 28-20p-19, TKhZ 30-12p-19.
