MATERIALS AND METHODS: microbiological, biological, immunological, physico-chemical, medical and statistical. MAIN RESULTS: 26 samples of C.diphtheriae antigenic preparations were obtained with the help of physical factors and their biochemical composition was determined. All of them increased the adhesive properties of corynebacteria, but the significant difference in protein and teichoic acid content, in influencing the adhesive indices in the test samples, indicates that different physical factors have their specific effects on the surface structures of bacterial cells. The preparations stimulated the activity of phagocytosis of the C.diphtheriae test culture both in rabbit blood and in human blood (t> 2, p = 0.05). The pH level of the bacterial antigen preparation has a significant effect on the activity of phagocytosis and adhesion of C. diphtheriae, but if at pH 7.2 its stimulating effect is observed, then the pH of 5.5 eliminates it. In animals vaccinated with C. diphtheriae and B.pertussis antigenic preparations the course of infection was easier after intraperitoneal administration of S.pneumoniae and P. aeruginosae cultures than in control animals. CONCLUSIONS: The use of a complex of physical factors for the production of surface antigens of corynebacteria, which have a significant effect on some links of innate immunity, is promising for the development of next-generation diphtheria vaccines Product Description popup.authors Jelisejeva Iryna V.
