The advantage of the proposed method is explained by the possibility of easily varying the substituents and the availability of the starting compounds, while the intro ducttion substituents into the benzene ring of 3-formylchromones is difficult or practically impossible. Influence of electronic nature of the substituent in the benzene ring of 3-formylchromone on luminescent properties of complexes with lantanide ions was studied.
