Aim of study – development methods for synthesis macroheterocycles (MHC) containing fragments of 1,2, 1,3 and 1,4-bis-(benzimidazolyl-2-yl)-benzenes, also the corresponding acyclic precursors (podands) and establishment structural factors influence of obtained compounds on their complexing and spectral-luminescent properties. Based on study of obtained ligands and their complexes, it is supposed to evaluate the prospects of corresponding samples for creation new materials with useful properties. Research methods – elemental analysis, TLC, electron, luminescent, IR- and NMR-spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and RSA. Systematized information about methods for obtaining podands – derivatives bis-(benzimidazolyl-2-yl)-benzenes. Preparative approaches to synthesis of such compounds have been developed and a number prototypes of 1,2, 1,3 and 1,4-bis-(benzimidazolyl-2-yl)-benzene, based on phthalic, iso-phthalic and terephthalic acids, have been developed.
