Bogatsky National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  Aim of study: identification of possibility predicting optical properties and directional synthesis of new inorganic compounds of p-, d- and f-metals, also their complexes with macroheterocycles. Research methods: organic and inorganic synthesis; thin layer and gas-liquid chromatography; thermodynamic and kinetic calculations; vibrational, electronic, luminescent, NMR-spectroscopy and mass-spectrometry; X-ray phase, X-ray structural and elemental analysis; QSPR analysis and molecular design. Derivatives of p-tert-butylcalix[4]arene with remains of monoazo-12-crown-4 and 12-crown-4-esters were synthesized, their extraction and complexing properties metal cations of s-, d-elements were evaluated, their spectral-luminescent properties were investigated. Data on methods for producing dibenzimidazo-crown ethers (DBICE) based on bis-(benzimidazoyl-2-methylene)-ethers are systematized. Preparative methods have been developed for synthesis of new (12-, 15-, and 18-membered) derivatives of DBICE, which differ in number of donor centers and the variable cavity sizes. A number of DBICE prototypes have been developed. Spectral-luminescent properties of calix[4]arenes modified by three fragments of 12-crown-4 (12-azacrown-4)-ethers, which are attached along the lower edge of calixarene, were studied. Compounds are characterized by intense fluorescence and phosphorescence in region 360-470 nm. The fact of lanthanide fluorides dissolution in a salt melt – a solution with subsequent crystallization in form of nanostructures in a melt matrix is experimentally confirmed. Using simple 1D-QSPR models using descriptors that reflect properties of atoms, an evaluation was carried out on an experimental basis for screening such important properties of components of potential optical materials as refractive indices and melting points.
