Automated emittancemeter software has been developed and it includes a control and data acquisition system, the emittancemeter’s head positioning control, a deflector generator and a current integrator. The algorithm of functioning of the emittancemeter software is developed. A high-voltage amplifier for the electrostatic emittancemeter has been designed and manufactured. Voltage amplifier parameters are: Input voltage ± 5 V, Output voltage ± 500 V, Frequency 0-1 kHz. Software for the ion beam emittance and brightness determination has been developed. The program, written in Mathcad 14, opens an Excel data file obtained by the data acquisition and processing system, converts the spreadsheet into a three-dimensional matrix, builds two-dimensional and three-dimensional beam diagrams, determines the emittance and brightness of the ion beam. Emittance and brightness of two ion sources are measured for a Penning source for two-charged helium ions and a Penning ion source with a focusing Einzel lens.
