Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 For the first time, in the structure of oncohematologic diseases in the adult population of Ukraine, an increase in the incidence of two forms of oncohematologic diseases - B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) (from 19% to 28.1%) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) (from 28.5% to 29.5%) was noted. A detailed analysis of the oncohematopathology structure in the patients of different sex revealed greater proportion of B-CLL in men and AML in women. The study of the acute leukemia (AL) forms in the patients born at the time of Chornobyl accident and in several preceding years (1982-1986) revealed certain differences in the distribution of these forms in the patients of different sex. In men, acute lymphoblastic leukemia was predominant, and in women – AML prevailed with unfavorable clinical and hematological features and lower effectiveness of therapy.
