The subject of the study is the security tools and applied aspects of competitiveness and optimization of regulation of activity of the subjects of the insurance market. Purpose of the research: is solving a complex problem related to the development of competition in the insurance market and ensuring a high level of competitiveness of the Ukrainian insurance market in the context of European integration processes. Results: A methodology for comprehensive assessment of the openness of service markets is proposed. The notion of "competitiveness of the insurance market" is defined. The unified methodology of complex competitiveness assessment is constructed and the competitiveness of the insurance market is analyzed from the point of view of the calculation of the macroeconomic indicators for 2005-2018. National market indicators for insurance services are compared with corresponding indicators for markets of proportional countries. The directions of increase of efficiency of activity of insurers in the field of agrarian risk insurance on the basis of public-private partnership are substantiated. The influence of insurance on the results of activity is defined for the food industry enterprises. A new concept of key performance indicators has been developed.
