The main purpose of the study is to prepare an analytical report “Shadow economy and crime in Ukraine: characterization of mutual impact” to identify current trends in the shadow economy in Ukraine and to provide a characterization of the mutual influence of the shadow economy and crime in Ukraine, to develop a system of measures to reduce the volume and level of shadow economy in Ukraine. The purpose and objectives of the study were realized through the comprehensive application of techniques such as: documentary method, systematic study, logical and comparative analysis of relevant rules of international legal acts in the field of counteraction to individual constituents of the shadow economy, analysis of scientific literature on the topic, media reports, other information-analytical materials, methods of summary, sampling, grouping, comparison, generalization of the obtained results, methods of theoretical and practical interpretation of state results.
