Insulin enhances glucose uptake by MCF-7 cells and fibroblasts or adipocytes when co-cultured. It has been shown in vivo that the growth of Walker-256 carcinosarcoma results in disruption of the prooxidant-antioxidant balance and changes in the content of essential elements related to glucose metabolism, and thus the formation of oxidative stress in animals. The redox state of the blood of patients with breast cancer varies depending on the age and hormone receptor status of the tumors and is associated with an increase in superoxide and NO-generating activity of neutrophils, elevated levels of NO-Hb, MetHb, quinones and ubisemiqinones, and gelatinase activity. An increase in CYP 1A2 levels in tumor cells correlates with elevated levels of the superoxide radical in the mitochondria, cell type, and disease stage. It has been determined that the expression of the chemokine receptor CXCR4 in patients with breast cancer depends on the molecular subtype of neoplasm, correlates with the expression of S18-2 and is associated with the density of microvessels in the tumor and the presence in patients of metabolic syndrome. The expression of EpCAM directly correlates with the stages of the tumor process and inversely - with the expression of the proliferation marker - Ki67. Conclusions. The studies conducted have revealed additional characteristics of tumor molecular subtypes and factors associated with metastasis and terminal stages of the tumor process, therefore, may indicate a risk of progression of breast cancer and should be taken into account when deciding on personalized treatment regimens as markers of disease progress and monitoring treatment effectiveness.
