We describe the general state of nuclear energy and the problems involved in capturing gas-aerosol radionuclide emissions from reactor containing 131I. Methods for purifying air from iodine using activated carbon filters are presented. The method for absorption capacity estimation of industrial charcoals, created at NSC KIPT on the basis of the first in Ukraine stand of iodine filter control (SKIF), is presented. The results of the certification of the test stand of iodine filters (SKIF) with the receipt of calibration certificate from NSC "Institute of Metrology" are given. The possibility using the test stand in determining the adsorption capacity of new carbon sorbents for the ventilation systems of NPPs is substantiated.
