The optimization of active laser media based on high-alloy YAG: Nd3+ ceramics for energy efficient pulsed laser generating subnanosecond pulses is done. Experimental samples of YAG optical ceramics: Nd3+ 0.5 mm thick and neodymium ion concentrations of 3 and 4% have been developed for compact energy-efficient pulsed lasers. A laboratory model of a laser with a short resonator of 0.5 mm was designed and created. The generation of subnanosecond pulses in a compact resonator using a semiconductor saturable absorber is experimentally shown. The possibility of controlling the parameters of microlaser generation is theoretically and experimentally shown: increasing the angular brightness by filtering the transverse modes of a wide-aperture laser using two-dimensional diffraction angular selectors.
